princeDan appeared on Good Morning America, Wednesday, April 27th to discuss the future of Prince’s multi-million dollar estate. Prince’s sister has told the court that she believes Prince has no will. Dan commented, “He went through a lot of lawyers and managers over time. There might still be a will out there, but if there isn’t a will, then it’s likely going to be divided amongst the siblings equally. Half siblings and full siblings get equal access but the first thing a probate court is going to have to do appoint an executor.” Watch the full segment here.

Dan on Good Morning America

January 14, 2016

I know it has been awhile since I’ve last posted so I thought I would give a recap of some of Dan’s most recent Good Morning America pieces. To kick off the new year Dan gave us a recap of all of the major trials and legal decisions from 2015 as well as what to look forward to in 2016. One case that is ongoing and to watch out for is that of Bill Cosby. Dan appeared on GMA this past week to discuss the women accusing Cosby of sexual assault plus the new criminal charges brought up against the past TV dad. And finally, Dan’s most recent story is that of the ‘Affluenza’ teen’s mom, Tonya Couch, who is charged with a third degree felony, hindering the apprehension of a fugitive and has posted bond that was recently reduced from $1 million to $75,000. Watch the full story here.

Dan on Robert Durst Alleged Confession

March 17, 2015

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Dan joined the crew at GMA on Tuesday, March 17th, to discuss the alleged murder confession made by Robert Durst at the end of HBO’s “The Jinx”. Durst was long suspected in the disappearance of his young wife and later suspected in the murder of a friend and then, was acquitted in a third case (even after confessing to killing a neighbor). But now, after the HBO documentary, “The Jinx”, based on Durst, played an audio of him off camera alleging confessing, he is under arrest and about to be extradited, charged with murder. Dan commented on the legitimacy of this alleged confession, “The defense will likely argue it shouldn’t be allowed into evidence. They will say that we can’t trust this tape. We don’t know where it was. It could have been manipulated. But those are probably losing arguments and ultimately the jury will probably hear it. You put that piece of audio aside and you still have that moment with the letters…and I think that’s going to be big trouble for Robert Durst.”

CaptureDan wrote an article for Mediaite.com on the record breaking traffic the website experienced this January 2015. Mediaite.com welcomed 6.2 million unique visitors which is the most it has seen in its five and a half year history, breaking the previous record by almost 200,000. Dan writes, “Part of what makes Mediaite so vibrant are the comments, most of them sharp and analytical, some a bit snarky and rhetorical (and yes there are still a few that are just downright mean spirited and awful). Across all of those categories, this month saw a record number of comments adding so significantly to our coverage, an astounding 330,000 of them in all with more than one story having over 2,000.” Read the full article and visit Mediaite.com here.
